FAQ

What is the average time it takes to become a professional fisherman?

You will need years of experience to become an expert fisherman. You will be a better fisherman if you learn new techniques and improve your skills.

Are you able to fish without a bobber?

Yes. You use a bobber to prevent the bait from moving when you are fishing. The bobber has two parts: the float and the line. You attach the hook and line to the lure. Once the line is out, let go of it. You should not use a Bobber as the lure can sink into the water and make it more difficult for fish to bite.

How big should my tacklebox be?

Because you will need ample space to store your fishing gear, a large tackle box is essential. The size of your tackle box depends on the amount of items you store inside.

Statistics

  • About 40 percent of all fish are freshwater species. (takemefishing.org)
  • For most freshwater species you are most likely to target when first starting out, a reel size of 20 to 30 should be more than enough! (strikeandcatch.com)
  • To substantiate this theory, Knight attempted a systematic inquiry by considering the timing of 200 'record' catches, more than 90 percent were made during a new moon (when no moon is visible). (myfwc.com)
  • You likely have a fish hooked if the bobber moves erratically for over 5 seconds. (tailoredtackle.com)
